Immersed in the eastern region of Lazio, in the wonderful scenery of the Tuscia, lies the delightful village of Castiglione in Teverina, a village which annually hosts a large number of events, festivals and celebrations.

January:
-“Canti e poesie per il Natale”(Songs and poems for Christmas): a musical event for Christmas.
-“Aspettando la Befana”(Waiting for the Befana): with no literal English translation, the Befana is much like Santa Claus for the Italians and is depicted as an old lady who brings gifts on the day of the Epiphany. -“Festa del vino dei colli del Tevere”(Festival of wine and the Tevere hills): the principal gastronomic event held in Castiglione in Teverina, offering visitors the chance to try the high quality wines produced locally.
August:
-“Calici di Stelle”(Chalice of the Stars): another gastronomic fair along the streets of the town.
November:
-“Funghi e Vino per San Martino”(Wine and Mushrooms for St. Martino): a traditional event held during the first half of the month, with food stalls, typical products, shows and musical evenings.

“Funghi e Vino per San Martino”(Wine and Mushrooms for St. Martino): One of the most popular events held Castiglione in Teverina, this festival is organized in the first half of the month of November and is something of great pride and importance for this Lazian city.
The event celebrates the delicious local products and the wonderful beauty of the village and surrounding countryside. It also aims to promote the two most famous products of the territory: wine, represented by the high quality and internationally renowned “Colli del Tevere,” and mushrooms, both of which blend to create a festival that is absolutely magical and unique.
During the event, which takes place in the main square of the village, visitors are treated to a traditional lunch and dinner made with the best local produce and accompanied by fantastic wines.
