“Presepe Vivente”(Living Nativity): Founded in 1994 by the parish and town of Grotte di Castro, today this event never fails to draw attention and curiosity with its enchanting beauty and its unique features. A live play set up in the town’s streets, this event is certainly evocative and realistic, not to mention one of a kind.
A re-enactment of great historical interest, held at the foot of a tufaceous cliff, the festival is performed in absolutely fascinating detail, with natural caves, animated and talented actors recounting life in Palestine and the nativity of Jesus and costumes entirely made by hand.
